There are two quick and easy methods to search for things in Windows.
Method 1: Click on the Start Button and start typing the name, or part of the name, of the file, document, picture, video, etc, you want to find; or enter the type of file (e.g. doc, xls, html, ppt) for which you're searching.
Windows will search the computer for files that match your search string. In the example above, Windows will search for files that have "numbers" in the name, documents that have "numbers" typed into them somewhere, and files or settings having to do with numbers, as you can see in the search results below.
Click on the desired item to open it, or right click on it for more options.
Method 2: Open either My Computer or an Explorer window (Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer). In the top right corner type in your search term (file name, file type, etc).
As with Method 1, Windows will search the computer for a match, as you can see in the search results below.
Double click on the desired item to open it, or right click on it for more options.
